Alberto Undiano Mallenco (born October 8, 1973 in Ansoáin / Pamplona ) is a Spanish football referee who was a referee at the 2010 World Cup . His main job is as a sociologist .

He has directed 48 international games so far, awarding seven penalties , six red cards and 202 yellow cards. In addition to Spanish , Mallenco also speaks English . He also led two qualifying games for the 2006 World Cup , three qualifying games for the 2010 World Cup and the playoff game between Costa Rica and Uruguay , which Uruguay won and qualified for the World Cup.
