Alois August von Schilcher

Alois August Schilcher , since 1843 Knight von Schilcher (* 1802 in Mindelheim , † April 13, 1877 ) was a Bavarian administrative officer.

Life

Schilcher studied at the University of Landshut 1819-1823 Law and became in 1819 a member of the Corps Suevia . He completed his studies with a doctorate. jur. from. After his preparatory service at the Landshut Court of Appeal , he passed the exam to become a council advisor with distinction in Munich in 1929 . In 1831 he became a regional court assessor in Tölz and in 1832 a government assessor in the government of the Lower Main District in Würzburg . In 1838 he was promoted to government councilor in the government of Upper Palatinate and Regensburg . In the same function he was transferred to the government of Lower Bavaria in Landshut in 1840 and to the government of Upper Bavaria in Munich in 1842 .

In 1843, Ludwig I awarded Schilcher the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown . Associated with this was the elevation to the personal aristocracy and he was allowed to call himself "Ritter von Schilcher" after his entry in the nobility register . In the same year he was appointed government director and in 1853 vice president.

On June 22, 1854, Schilcher was appointed District President of Lower Bavaria. During his term of office he undertook regular and detailed inspection trips to the regional courts of the administrative district, which he attached particular importance in the course of his administration. On the occasion of his retirement in 1866 the King awarded him the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown.
