Amber Brooks (born January 23, 1991 in Evansville , Indiana ) is an American football player .

Career

society

Through the youth teams New Hope Cobras (together with boys), Lenape Valley , Langhorne Strikers , Universal Soccer Academy and Vincent United , Brooks came to the U-18 team of Arsenal World Class at the age of 15 , which she left again in 2009 when she started her studies. With the Tar Heels , the women's soccer team of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill , she won the US college championship in 2012 with a 4-1 victory over the Nittany Lions , the team from Pennsylvania State University . In total, she came to 93 appearances for the Tar Heels , in which she scored 17 goals.

From 2011 to 2012 Brooks played for the W-League participants Vancouver Whitecaps Women and New Jersey Wildcats . On January 25, 2013, she signed a contract with FC Bayern Munich that was valid until June 30, 2014. On her debut on March 17, 2013 (15th matchday), she scored both goals in a 2-1 win at home against SGS Essen .

On December 11, 2013, she announced her departure from FC Bayern Munich and moved to Portland Thorns FC . He had already secured the rights to Brooks in the NWSL College Draft on January 18, 2013. On their debut in the NWSL, their team won 1-0 in the away game against Houston Dash on April 12, 2014 (1st matchday) .

After the end of the season in the NWSL, Brooks returned to Bayern Munich on loan until the end of 2014 and should then appear for the Western New York Flash franchise . Before the start of the 2015 season, however, she moved on to Seattle Reign FC , with whom she reached the championship final against FC Kansas City . For the 2016 season she moved to the first division club Houston Dash , for whom she made her league debut on April 16, 2016 (1st matchday) in a 3-1 home win against the Chicago Red Stars .

National team

Brooks was part of the squad of the U-17 national team, which took part in the "Future Stars Tournament" from January 29 to February 2, 2008 in New Zealand . She made her debut on February 2 in a 3-2 win over Germany after she had not played against Australia and New Zealand.

Brooks also played five international matches in qualifying for the U-17 World Cup: 6-0 win against Costa Rica on 18th, 9-0 win against El Salvador (2 goals) on 20th, 9th: 1 win against Trinidad & Tobago on 22nd, 1-0 win over Mexico on 24th and 4-1 win over Costa Rica (1 goal) on July 27, 2008.

Brooks took in 2008 with the national team at the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand in part and was in two group matches at the 2: 3 loss to the selection of Japan and the 1: 1 draw against the selection of France captain . It was also used in the three following games in the final round . She reached the final with her team, in which she had to admit defeat to North Korea's selection with 1: 2 after extra time.

For the US U-20 national team, she made her debut on January 21, 2010 in Guatemala City in the 6-0 win against Jamaica when she came on for Toni Pressley in the 75th minute. The opening game of the CONCACAF U-20 women's championship was the first of five international matches that ended with winning the championship. In the final on January 30, 2010 in a 1-0 win against Mexico, she played her only tournament game over 90 minutes.

On February 22, 24 and 26, 2010, she completed the international matches against Norway (1: 0), Germany (1: 1) and England as part of the “Four Nations Tournament” in La Manga ( ESP) (1: 0).

Brooks took part in the 2010 U-20 World Cup in Germany with the national team, played all three group matches and scored her only tournament goal in the quarter-finals against Nigeria , which was only lost 4-2 on penalties .

From 2011 to 2012, she played nine international matches for the US U-23 national team and scored three goals for them.

On November 10, 2013, she came to her first appearance in the senior national team in a 4-1 win against Brazil , where she was in the starting line-up.

Her parents played soccer too: Jean, her mother, was the first female player on a men's college soccer team while she was at Ashland University (1976–1979), Allan, her father played for Le Moyne College from 1975 to 1979 (New York).
