In January 2013 Long was signed by Portland Thorns FC , she made her league debut there on April 13, 2013 against FC Kansas City . In December Long moved briefly to Chelsea LFC on loan and took part in the 2013 Mobcast Cup .

In the 2015 season she was one of the three second best goalscorers with ten goals, but only finished sixth with her team.
