from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nassau office of Schöneberg was an administrative unit that existed from 1799 to 1806 in the territory of the Principality of Nassau-Weilburg and from 1806 to 1815 in the Duchy of Nassau . The administrative seat was in Schöneberg in the Westerwald , it was subordinate to the administrative district Ehrenbreitstein . The office included the four parishes of Birnbach , Flammersfeld , Hamm and Schöneberg , which included over 100 localities.

history

The area of the Nassau office of Schöneberg was part of the county of Sayn-Hachenburg until the end of the 18th century . In 1799 the county fell to the Counts of Nassau-Weilburg due to an inheritance . The accession of the Prince of Nassau-Weilburg to the Rhine Confederation (1806) had no direct impact on the territorial status of the Schöneberg Office, now part of the Duchy of Nassau . Due to the resolutions passed at the Congress of Vienna (1815), the area was ceded to the Kingdom of Prussia and the Schöneberg office was dissolved. Under Prussian administration, the Birnbach parish became part of the Weyerbusch mayor in 1816 , the Flammersfeld and Schöneberg parishes became part of the Flammersfeld mayor , and the Hamm parish became part of the Hamm mayor . These mayors were also the newly formed Altenkirchen in Koblenz assigned.
