Ana de Mier y Ortuño

Ana de Mier y Ortuño (born April 12, 1981 in Granada , Spain ) is a German-Spanish film editor who lives in Munich . For her montage of the youth film The Most Beautiful Girl in the World (Director: Aron Lehmann ) she was nominated for the German Film Prize in the category Best Editing in 2019 .

life and work

Ana de Mier y Ortuño moved to Munich with her family at the age of five. After training as a foreign language correspondent for English and Spanish, she began studying architecture , which she did not continue after completing her intermediate diploma.

Her career in the field of film editing began in 2007 as Alexander Berner's assistant editor for the feature film Der Baader Meinhof Complex . This was followed by assistance to other renowned editors such as Claus Wehlisch , Charles Ladmiral and Patricia Rommel . She was also involved in the box office hit Fack Ju Göhte (2013) as an assistant, and also edited so-called »virals«, i.e. teasers intended for the Internet , which consisted of additionally filmed material that did not appear in the film itself.

When Tim Trachtes film debut launch ride (2015) was Ana de Mier y Ortuño first time responsible for the installation of a feature film, with two other editors, Jochen Savior and Milos Savic . A year later she edited the second film from Trachten, Die Vampirschwestern 3 - Reise nach Transsilvanien .

For The Most Beautiful Girl in the World (Director: Aron Lehmann , 2018) she was nominated for an editing award for the first time, in the Best Editing category of the German Film Award 2019 .

Ana de Mier y Ortuño is a member of the German Film Academy , the European Film Academy and the Bundesverband Filmschnitt Editor eV (BFS) .
