Anadolujet ( proper spelling AnadoluJet ) is the brand identity under which the Turkish airline Turkish Airlines operates low-cost flights. The business division is based at Ankara Esenboğa Airport and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport .
history
Beginnings
The AnadoluJet division was set up by Turkish Airlines as a virtual airline in February 2008 . It took over all national routes of Turkish Airlines from Ankara and uses their Air Operator Certificate . Flight operations began on April 23, 2008. Further domestic flights from Istanbul-Sabiha Gökçen Airport followed later.
expansion
With the move from Istanbul-Ataturk Airport to the new Istanbul Airport , Turkish Airlines introduced some innovations. In April 2019, it was announced that the Anadolujet brand would offer flights abroad.
Istanbul-Sabiha Gokcen
The expansion was officially announced in January 2020. Turkish Airlines has given up its few routes from Sabiha Gökçen Airport and withdrew from there. Turkish Airlines only flies to the new Istanbul Airport in Istanbul. The AnadoluJet brand should therefore fill the gaps and offer new connections. A total of 28 new destinations in Europe and the Middle East will be offered. The fleet is to be increased from 34 to 57. However, it is unclear which aircraft models will be added to the Anadolujet fleet. AnadoluJet has also presented new packages. Passengers can now choose between the categories Standard , EkstraJet and KonforJet , whereby Standart only allows one piece of hand luggage, while KonforJet allows 20 kilograms of checked luggage and hand luggage. Snacks and drinks are offered in all categories. The aim is to gain market share at the Sabiha Gökçen location. Today, Pegasus Airlines, with a share of 85% in the movements at the airport Sabiha Gökçen top dog . Turkish Airlines hopes to compete with Pegasus Airlines and gain market share.
Ankara-Esenboğa
At the beginning of February 2020 it was also announced that AnadoluJet will take over all scheduled flights from Ankara, which are offered all year round, from Turkish Airlines. Turkish Airlines will only offer the hourly flights to Istanbul and the seasonal flights abroad.
Destinations
Turkish Airlines uses the AnadoluJet brand for all routes flown from Istanbul-Sabiha Gökçen and almost all routes flown from Ankara. The brand flies to 68 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Turkey in mid-2020 in German-speaking countries from Sabiha Gökçen Airport from Berlin-Tegel , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt , Cologne / Bonn , Munich , Stuttgart and Vienna - and from Ankara Airport -Esenboğa Berlin-Tegel, Frankfurt, Cologne / Bonn and Vienna.
