Anastassija Olegovna Piwowarova ( Russian Анастасия Олеговна Пивоварова , scientific transliteration Anastasija Olegovna Pivovarova ; born June 16, 1990 in Chita , Soviet Union ) is a Russian tennis player .

Career

In 2005 Piwowarowa began her tennis career on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won ten singles and six doubles titles so far. She crowned her second tournament with her first individual title when she defeated Olga Panowa 7: 6 and 7: 6 in the Moscow final.

2007 Piwowarowa got a wildcard for the qualification for the WTA tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami . In both tournaments she missed the main draw; in Indian Wells she reached the second qualifying round after defeating Karin Knapp . She also failed in qualifying at the WTA tournament in Moscow . In 2007 she won three singles and one double title (ITF).

In Indian Wells and Miami in 2008 Piwowarowa each received a wildcard for the main draw, but both times she failed in round one. At the French Open in 2008, she tried for the first time in qualifying for a Grand Slam tournament , but without success. Things went better at the US Open ; after her first successful qualification, she lost to Patty Schnyder in the first round in three sets. In Seoul Piwowarowa managed the first victory in the main draw of a WTA tournament. However, she benefited from the fact that Lee Ye-ra from South Korea had to give up in the third set.

The year 2009 was marked by injuries. Nevertheless, Piwowarowa reached the second round in Miami, in which she lost to Jelena Dementjewa in three sets. At the US Open, she failed in qualifying.

Piwowarowa played her last professional tournament in August 2018, and has not been in the world rankings since August 2019.
