André Beyer (born June 1, 1957 in Dresden ) is a German actor , dubbing and audio book speaker .

Acting studies

Beyer studied from 1978 to 1982 at the "Hans Otto" theater college in Leipzig  (since 1992 the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" college for music and theater ).

Following Beyer's studies, he worked for several years at the theaters in Freiberg / Saxony (city theater) , Neue Bühne in Senftenberg and Lüneburg . In his first years at the theater, he played roles such as Peter van Dan in the stage version of the Diary of Anne Frank , Bill Starbuck in Der Regenmacher (by N. Richard Nash ) , the leading role of Amphitryon in the play of the same name by Molière and John in Die Island  (from Athol Fougar ).

Later, at the Lüneburg Theater , he played the bassist in Süskind's Der Kontrabass , Pozzo in Waiting for Godot and Stech in  Die Nashörner , Fellner in the tragicomedy India by Josef Hader and Alfred Dorfer , Sagredo in Das Leben des Galilei by Bertolt Brecht and the Metzler in Goethe's Götz von Berlichingen . In the satire November he was Chief Dwight Grackle in the theaters Theater an der Kö in Düsseldorf , Contra-Kreis-Theater in Bonn , Comedy in the Bayerischer Hof Munich , Munich touring theater, Comedy on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin and Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg on the stage.

In TV series and documentaries, André Beyer was seen in the main and in supporting roles in episodes, among others, in Großstadtrevier , in Tatort , in Double Use ,  Red Roses , Live Your Life and Alpha Team .

André Beyer has been working primarily as a speaker since 2014. He read for audio book recordings like Tolstoy's Die Kosaken or Büchner's Lenz . His voice is present in many radio plays, for example in episodes of the Mark Brandis series , the series of ghost thrillers , Twilight Mysteries  and as Michel Howard in The White Lily . Beyer can also be heard in radio play productions by WDR , NDR and Hessischer Rundfunk as well as in the Audible production The Waringham Saga .

In the area of ​​dubbing, he spoke in anime series such as Altnoah Zero the role of Saazbaum and in Yu Gi Oh , Guardiens of Galaxy , but also in episodes of TV series such as Cold Case , CSI New York , Brotherhood , House of Cards , Travelers and the TV films  Transformer 3 and My Greek Vacations .

When the American astronaut Michael James Massimino starred in several episodes of the series Big Bang Theory , André Beyer lent him his voice. He later also spoke Massimino as a voiceover in some documentaries.

In other documentaries he can be heard as a permanent voiceover for Eustace Conway in Mountain Men (since 2012) and as Charles Barckhouse and Brian Abbott in Curse of Oak Island (since 2014). Computer gamers recognize his voice in Guild Wars 2 , among other things , in many relevant roles in The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt - Blood and Wine as Damien.

Beyer also gives literature readings. He is a member of the Association of German Speakers eV and lives in Lower Saxony .
