List of Articles of the Basic Law
This list ranks the sections and articles of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (GG).
The preamble precedes the articles . The articles of the Basic Law are numbered up to Article 146 of the Basic Law. Including all sub-articles, the Basic Law comprises a total of 202 articles. Five of these articles were repealed (Art. 49, Art. 59a, Art. 74a ( Memento of 29 May 2006 in the Internet Archive ), Art. 75 ( Memento of 29 May 2006 in the Internet Archive ) and Art. 142a GG). Four other articles are wholly or partially obsolete today due to the passage of time or execution ( Art. 132 , Art. 136 , Art. 137 and Art. 144 GG). In the appendix to the Basic Law, there are five articles of the Weimar Constitution that continue to apply ( Art. 136 , Art. 137 , Art. 138 , Art. 139 and Art. 141 WRV) in accordance with Art. 140 GG .
The articles of the Weimar Imperial Constitution are on an equal footing with the other articles.
