Gustav August Wilhelm Malotki von Trzebiatowski (born November 7, 1808 in Klein Bölkau near Danzig , † July 21, 1873 in Weilburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

He came from the noble family Malotki and was a son of the cavalry master and knight of the order Pour le Mérite August Ferdinand Konstantin von Malotki (1782-1852) and his wife Caroline, born von Manteuffel -Kielpinski (1783-1868).

Military career

Malotki attended the cadet institute in Berlin from 1824 and on March 30, 1827 was transferred as a second lieutenant to the 24th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army . In 1830/31 he worked as a teacher at the division school of the 6th Division and from October 1832 to July 1835 he graduated from the General War School . By December 1848 he was promoted to captain and company commander .

As such, Malotki took part in the street fighting in Dresden and Iserlohn in 1849 during the suppression of the revolutionary unrest . Subsequently, his regiment was relocated to Baden , in order to be used here in the suppression of the revolution . Malotki took part in the battles at Wiesenthal, Kirchheimbolanden and Kuppenheim .

In February 1855 he was promoted to major and appointed commander of the III. Battalion (Sorau) of the 12th Landwehr Regiment. In 1857 he became battalion commander in the 7th Infantry Regiment and in 1859 commander of the fusilier battalion of this regiment. In 1859 Malotki was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1860 was given the command of the 9th Combined Infantry Regiment. In the same year he became the commander of the 49th Infantry Regiment and in 1861 he became a colonel . Under position à la suite of his regiment, Malotki was appointed commander of the 3rd Infantry Brigade on April 18, 1865 . Two months later he was promoted to major general in that position .

In the German War Malotki took part in the battles near Trautenau , Tobitschau and Königgrätz in 1866 . On 14 January 1868 he was awarded the character as a lieutenant general with board for disposition made. For the duration of the mobile relationship on the occasion of the war against France , Malotki was reused in 1870/71. As General Stage Inspector of the 1st Army, he took part in the capture of Amiens and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for this. After he was made inactive again after the peace treaty , Malotki received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves and Swords, on September 28, 1871 .

family

Before 1835 he married Ernestine von Alvensleben from the Redekin house (1808–1881). The marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter.
