The Autódromo Miguel E. Abed is a motorsport racing circuit located in the city of Amozoc near Puebla in Mexico .

history

The Autódromo Miguel E. Abed was opened in 2005 and is considered one of the most important motorsport facilities in Mexico. The route consists of a street course and a two kilometer long oval. In 2005 and 2006, World Touring Car Championship races were held on this track. However, the track surface was of poor quality, so drivers like Alex Zanardi complained about it. The FIA gave the track operator an ultimatum. It was said that if the deficiencies are not remedied by the start of the 2007 World Touring Car Championship , then in 2007 the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed would not be driven. The repair work could not be completed in time and, as announced, the route was taken off the racing calendar in the 2007 season, but was resumed the following year.

The NASCAR Corona Series , the highest Mexican NASCAR racing series, and the NASCAR Mexico T4 Series , the second highest Mexican NASCAR racing series, hold two races annually on the track.

Furthermore, the "24 Hours of Mexico" have been held on the track since 2006.
