Automotive Hall of Fame

The Automotive Hall of Fame (AHOF) is a hall of honor for outstanding personalities in the field of research and development in automotive technology .

history

Charles B. King, a pioneer of automotive technology born in California in 1889 , founded the company "Automotive Old Timers" (AOT) in 1939, from which the AHOF emerged.

In 1971, in Midland , Michigan , a museum was built on the grounds of Northwood University (formerly Northwood Institute) and lasted 25 years. In order to increase the attractiveness, the management of the AHOF then decided to look for a location in the vicinity of the automobile city Detroit . On August 16, 1997, the new Dearborn, Michigan facility in the neighborhood of the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village was inaugurated.
