Bayshore Gardens is a census-designated place (CDP) in Manatee County in the US state of Florida with 16,323 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Bayshore Gardens is located on Sarasota Bay , a bay on the Gulf of Mexico . The CDP is located approximately 10 km south of Bradenton and approximately 70 km south of Tampa . The Tamiami Trail ( US 41 ) and Florida State Road 70 cross or touch it.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 16,323 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 9744 households. The population density was 1774.2 inh / km². 81.0% of the population identified themselves as white, 7.4% as African-American , 0.5% as Native American and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 7.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.8% to several ethnic groups. 19.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 22.0% of all households and persons aged at least 65 years in 43.3% of all households. 53.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.16 people and the average family size was 2.82 people.
20.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 24.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 32.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 46 years. 47.1% of the population were male and 52.9% were female.
