Bradenton Beach is a city in Manatee County in the US state of Florida with 1171 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Bradenton Beach is located on a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico and borders the cities of Holmes Beach (to the north) and Longboat Key (to the south). The city is about 10 km west of Bradenton and about 80 km south of Tampa .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 1171 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 1849 households, most of which are holiday homes used as second homes. The population density was 836.4 inh / km². 95.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.5% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 1.4% said they belonged to several ethnic groups. 2.7% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 47.7% of all households lived in 10.9% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 51.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.89 people and the average family size was 2.34 people.
10.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 47.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 59 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.
The median annual income was $ 36,875, with 18.2% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
