Special regulations
The previous year's overall winners of the IBU Cup receive a personal right to start the first World Cup of the season. Germany can therefore register seven athletes with Lucas Fratzscher and Sweden with Elisabeth Högberg seven athletes for the World Cup in Konthiolahti.
For the last World Cup of the season, the IBU awards additional starting quotas. Each nation receives an additional quota place for each athlete among the top ten in the overall ranking of the IBU Cup for the past year. These quota places are limited to two per nation and are not personal. The junior competitor who achieved the highest number of points in the junior world championships of the current season also receives an additional personal starting quota.
