Bornsen is a district of Jübar in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Bornsen is 22 kilometers southwest of the district town of Salzwedel and 12 kilometers east of Wittingen in Lower Saxony . It is around eight kilometers to federal highway 244 in the southwest .

The Bornsener Bach flows to the west of the village and meets the Molmker Bach north of Dankensen. In the south are the 94 meter high Petersberg and the 105 meter high Wolfsberg.

history

The place was originally a round village , which later developed into a scattered settlement .

Today's village Bornsen was first mentioned in a document as Bornsen in the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg in 1375 and belonged to the Diesdorf monastery .

Rorlach points out that a Borrensin supposedly mentioned in 1178 has nothing to do with Bornsen, as described by Hermes and Weigelt, who probably refer to Riedel, who does not cite a source himself.

The historical population of Bornsen for the years 1674 to 1814 is documented in a local family book .

In 1953, the first type III agricultural production cooperative, the LPG “Die Probation”, was formed in Jübar . The LPG animal production "Eichengrund" was formed in 1975 from the LPGs "Eichengrund" in Wüllmersen, "Probation" in Bornsen and the LPG type I "Altmarkland" in Wüllmersen, which in 1986 included a Bornsen dairy cattle farm. In 1992 the LPG was converted into the "Milch-, Fleisch- und Agrarprodukte eG".

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Drebenstedt was incorporated into the municipality of Bornsen from the Salzwedel district .

Until the end of 2009, the Bornsen community with the Drebenstedt district belonged to the Beetzendorf-Diesdorf administrative community .

The municipal councils of the municipalities Bornsen (on May 25, 2009), Hanum (on June 3, 2009), Jübar (on June 3, 2009), Lüdelsen (on May 13, 2009) and Nettgau (on June 4, 2009) decided by means of a territorial change agreement 2009) decided that their congregations should be dissolved and merged into a new congregation called Jübar . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

Bornsen has been a district of Jübar since January 1st, 2010.
