Bristol Bay Borough is a borough in the state of Alaska in the United States of America . The borough's administrative headquarters are in Naknek on the eponymous Bristol Bay . The 2010 census counted 997 residents.

The borough has an area of 2,299 square kilometers; of which square kilometers are land and 991 square kilometers (43.12 percent) are water.
history
The borough was established in October 1962. The name Bristol Bay goes back to James Cook , who named the bay after the naval officer Augustus Hervey, 3rd Earl of Bristol .
Two structures in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as of April 20, 2020, the Elevation of Holy Cross Church and St. John the Baptist Chapel .

According to the 2005 (2000) census, 1,112 (1,258) people and 969 (979) house units were counted.
Broken down by race, there is a breakdown of 57.6 percent (52.54 percent) white, 41.4 percent (43.72 percent) natives and 1 percent (4.74 percent) others.
30.9 percent (38.2 percent) of the population was under 18 and 5.9 percent (3.8 percent) over 65 years old.
Data from 2000
Of the 490 households, 38.2 percent had children under the age of 18, 49.2 percent were married (and lived together). The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.33. The median age in 2000 was 36 years. For every 100 women (over 18) there were 125.6 men.
