The castle Ramsau , including Ramsau castle and Ramsauburg called, is a Outbound hilltop castle on 620 m above sea level. NHN in spur location 900 meters north of the church of Ramsau , a district of the municipality of Nussdorf am Inn in the district of Rosenheim in Bavaria .
The castle was built by the lords of Nussdorf and mentioned in the 12th century. From the 14th century the knights of Klammenstein (Clammensteiner) are the lords of the castle. Klammenstein Castle is to be assumed as the headquarters of the Clammsteiners . From 1402 the Lords of Kammer were the owners, from 1484 the Angerkloster Munich. It was destroyed in 1504 during the siege of Kufstein in the course of the Landshut War of Succession . The last remains of the castle above ground were removed around 1950.
The castle complex was either a tower hill castle (Motte) or rather a tower castle on a spur peak in a promising location.
