The Hofberg is a former castle hill in Bad Aibling . It forms the north-western end of an arched moraine hill into which the city center of Bad Aibling nestles.

history

The Hofberg was probably the seat of a fortification ( oppidum ) as early as the Celtic La Tène period , which was later taken over by the Romans . In the year 470 a court of the Agilolfinger was built there , which was expanded into a royal court ( royal palace ) of the Carolingians in the 8th century .

In the following centuries the Hofberg was the seat of the Vogtei Aibling . In 1293 a nursing court was set up on the Hofberg, and until 1972 there was an independent district court here .

In 2013 the branch of the Rosenheim District Court that still existed here was closed . Today there is an enforcement court in the buildings as a branch of the Rosenheim District Court.
