Camalaniugan is a municipality in the Cagayan province of the Philippines . In 2015, 24,923 people lived in the 78.6 km² area, resulting in a population density of 317 inhabitants per km². Camalaniugan, which lies on the Cagayan River , was settled before the 15th century . In 1915 it was made a township. The majority of the population lives from agriculture and fishing.
