Lasam

Lasam is a municipality in the Philippine province of Cagayan and was only founded in 1950. In 2015 39,135 people lived in the 234 km² area, resulting in a population density of 167 inhabitants per km². The terrain in the valley of the Cagayan is very flat in contrast to the south and north of the municipality, where it sometimes rises to over 150 m. In the west the municipality borders on the province of Apayao . A major educational institution in the community is Cagayan State University .
