Santa Praxedes is a municipality in the Philippine province of Cagayan and is located in the northwest of the province. In 2015 the 100.8 km² area had 4154 inhabitants, resulting in a population density of 41 inhabitants per km².

The place is located on the Caraballo Mountains , which reach a height of up to 500 meters. The coast is therefore consistently steep. The settlements that are located in the valleys are surrounded by high and heavily forested mountains. The municipality of Santa Praxedes, which was called Langangan until 1997 , is the most populous municipality in Cagayan. It was founded in 1917 by the settlement of Apayaos. In the south the municipality borders on the province of Apayao and in the west on the province of Ilocos Norte .

Santa Praxedes is divided into the following ten barangays :
