Cautano is an Italian commune in the Campania region in the Benevento province with 1981 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is part of the mountain community Comunità Montana del Taburno .

Location of Cautano in the province of Benevento

The municipality is located about 14 km west of the provincial capital Benevento in the hill country on the east side of Monte Taburno . The neighboring municipalities are Campoli del Monte Taburno , Foglianise , Frasso Telesino , Tocco Caudio and Vitulano . The other districts are Cacciano, Loreto, Maione, Prata, Sala and San Giovanni.
