The second-generation Chevrolet Orlando looks more like a crossover than a van . It is built exclusively by SAIC General Motors for the Chinese market. It has only been sold there since September 2018. In other markets the Orlando was discontinued without replacement. The vehicle is available as a five- or seven-seater.
Model history
The vehicle was formally shown publicly for the first time at the Chengdu Motor Show in late August 2018 and went on sale the following month. It is one of the first Chevrolet vehicles in China to be offered in the "Redline" equipment variant. The Chevrolet FNR-X concept vehicle was presented at Auto Shanghai 2017, which was primarily used in the design of the vehicle front.

The vehicle is powered by a turbocharged 1.3-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 120 kW (163 hp). The maximum torque of the engine is 230 Nm and the maximum speed of the vehicle is 190 km / h. As standard, the Orlando has a 6-speed manual transmission , optional is a six-step automatic transmission available. Since June 2020 the vehicle with a mild hybrid system , which with a vehicle electrical system voltage of 48 V is operated available. The electric machine can support the combustion engine with a peak power of 8 kW and a maximum torque of 40 Nm. The energy storage in the 48 V system is a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO 4 ).

The five-door vehicle is 4684 mm long, 1627 mm wide, 1807 mm high and is available as a five or seven-seater. The wheelbase is 2796 mm. It has LED headlights and taillights as standard. A glass panorama roof is also available. The luggage compartment volume is 109 l when the seats in all three rows are set up, 479 l when the third row of seats is folded down and 1520 l when both the second (backrest width ratio 40:60) and the third row (backrest width ratio 50:50) are folded down.
