NGC 7171 is a barred spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type SBb in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 126 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 1417 .

The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on August 12, 1787 .
