NGC 7156 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 185 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7146 , NGC 7147 , NGC 7149 , IC 1407 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 8, 1785 .
