Christian Liebig (born December 22, 1954 in Berlin-Biesdorf ) is a German bass player and rock musician .

Live and act

From 1961 to 1971 Liebig attended the general high school in East Berlin . An apprenticeship as an electrician at VEB Elektromontage / Berlin followed by 1973. During his army service in Burg 1974/1975 he worked as a radio operator. From 1975 Christian Liebig finally worked as a company electrician at “Autotrans” in Berlin. Since he was already working as a bass player in an amateur group, he decided to start distance learning in 1976, which in 1977 led to his resignation from the company "Autotrans" and to working with various bands, including Freygang .

In 1979 Liebig began his university studies at the East Berlin University of Music "Hanns Eisler" , which he graduated in 1983. During his studies Christian Liebig played with the Hansi Biebl Band, among others . From 1984 to 1986 he was a member of the blues group Engerling . In 1986 he joined Henning Protzmann as a bassist at Karat , where he still plays today. Among other things, Liebig recorded the Vorwende album Fifth Season with Karat .
