Civate is a municipality in the province of Lecco in the Italian region of Lombardy with 3779 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

geography

Civate is about 4 km southwest of the provincial capital Lecco and 45 km northeast of the metropolis of Milan . The municipality includes the fractions Isella , Pozzo , Scola and Tozio . The neighboring municipalities are Annone di Brianza , Canzo (CO), Cesana Brianza , Galbiate , Suello and Valmadrera .

  • San Pietro al Monte is a Romanesque-style monastery located above Civate at an altitude of 630 meters on a grassy plateau on the slopes of the nearby Monte Cornizzolo. It can only be reached from Civate on foot in about an hour's hike through a dense forest.
