Cody Bass (born January 7, 1987 in Owen Sound , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Colorado Eagles in the American Hockey League since September 2018 .

Career

Cody Bass began his career as a hockey player in Canada's top junior league, Ontario Hockey League , where he was active from 2003 to 2007 for the Mississauga IceDogs and Saginaw Spirit . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2005 in the fourth round as a total of 95th player by the Ottawa Senators .

For the Senators, he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2007/08 season . In the two previous seasons, the attacker was already on the ice in a total of 14 games for the Ottawas farm team from the American Hockey League (AHL), the Binghamton Senators , for whom he has since played as well as for the Ottawas NHL team. In November 2008, Bass injured his shoulder, after which he could not play a single game for the rest of the season.

In July 2011 he signed a two-way contract for one year with the Columbus Blue Jackets , which was subsequently extended to a total of three years, with bass predominantly in the Blue Jackets' farm team, the Springfield Falcons , in the AHL. He then spent a year in Rockford with the IceHogs from the AHL, before signing a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators in July 2015, where he also played with the farm team. After his contract was extended by two years in the summer of 2016, he did not receive a new contract in Nashville in July 2018. As a result, Bass signed an AHL-limited contract with the Colorado Eagles in September 2018 .

International

For Canada , Bass took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2005 , where he finished second with his team.
