James F. McNulty

James Francis McNulty, Jr. (born October 18, 1925 in Boston , Massachusetts , † June 30, 2009 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American politician.

McNulty served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1945 . He then studied through the GI Bill of Rights from 1946 at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he received his Bachelor of Laws in 1951 . That same year he was admitted to the Arizona State Bar and practiced in Bisbee .

In Arizona McNulty began to be politically involved in the Democratic Party there. He was a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in 1960 and was later elected to the Arizona Senate, to which he was a member from 1969 to 1975.

In the 1982 congressional election, McNulty was elected as a Democrat in the 98th  Congress and represented the state of Arizona in the House of Representatives from January 3, 1983 to January 3, 1985 . He was not re-elected to the 99th Congress. McNulty has now returned to practice and did not retire until 2000.

McNulty was married with three children, a son and two daughters.
