Cristian Zaccardo (born December 21, 1981 in Formigine (MO) ) is an Italian football player who plays in the position of right-back . He was a world champion squad of the national team of Italy in the 2006 World Cup in Germany .
Career
In the club
Cristian Zaccardo was discovered by FC Bologna scouts in 1991 at a youth tournament and was immediately committed. Seven years later he made the jump to the Primavera team in Bologna. However, an injury threw him back and he moved to Spezia Calcio , a Serie C1 club at the time, on loan for the 2000/01 season . After a season, Zaccardo made the leap to Serie A and returned to Bologna FC. Here he played three years in the sequence, where he made the jump into the regular squad in the second season. For the 2004/05 season , Cristian Zaccardo moved to US Palermo , where he received a regular place straight away. In 2004 he was appointed to the Italian national soccer team for the first time .
From July 1, 2008 to August 29, 2009, the defender was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga . In the first half of the 2008/09 season he was not always seeded, but mostly a substitute behind Sascha Riether . Zaccardo scored his first and only Bundesliga goal on December 7, 2008 in the Lower Saxony derby against Hannover 96 . In 2009 he won the first championship title in the club's history with the Wolves .
On August 29, the Italian first division club FC Parma announced that Zaccardos had moved to Serie A.
On January 24, 2013 Zaccardo moved within the league to AC Milan . In return, Djamel Mesbah moved to Parma; also was Rodney Strasser awarded. After two years in Milan, with only a few appearances, Zaccardo moved to the Italian first division promoted FC Carpi .
In the national team
In 1997, Cristian Zaccardo first played for the Italian U-16 team . In April 1998 he took part with this team at the U-16 European Championship in Scotland . In this tournament Italy finished second, thanks in part to Cristian Zaccardo, who scored the decisive goal in the semi-finals. Zaccardo was first used in the Italian national team in 2004 with the U-21 European champions in Germany and on November 17, 2004 in Marcello Lippi's 1-0 win against Finland by Marcello Lippi , and since then he has been used regularly. In 2006 he won his first major title when he and Italy won the World Cup against France in a 5-3 penalty shoot-out in Berlin .
