The goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi began his career in the youth teams of AS Roma , at the age of 14 he was the ball boy in the final of the European Cup of AS Roma against Liverpool FC . In his younger years he was considered to be the greatest talent in goalkeeping in Italian football.

At the age of 17 he received his first professional contract with the Roma . On December 13, 1987, he made his Serie A debut at the away game of AS Roma at AC Milan . Peruzzi came on for the goalkeeper Franco Tancredi , as he was hit by a projectile, the game was later scored 2-0 in favor of the Romans.

In 1989 Peruzzi moved to Hellas Verona , with whom he could not avoid relegation to Serie B in his first season .

For the 1990/91 season he returned to AS Roma, where he was convicted of doping in October 1990, together with teammate Andrea Carnevale , and suspended for one year.

Nevertheless, Juventus Turin took him under contract for the 1991/92 season, where he became a regular goalkeeper after a short time. In the following years he won with Juve almost all imaginable titles, including in 1996 , the Champions League and three Italian championships .

For the 1999/2000 season he moved to Inter Milan , only to move to Lazio Rome a year later for the equivalent of 17.9 million euros , where he was the goalkeeper until 2007.

On April 29, 2007 Peruzzi ended his professional career after the derby against AS Roma . Overall, he was voted the best Serie A goalkeeper three times and was awarded the Guerin d'Oro title once .
