Denes nad Makedonija ( Albanian  Sot për Maqedoninë , in German “Today about Macedonia”) is the title of the North Macedonian national anthem . The author of the text was the writer Vlado Maleski , the author of the music was Todor Skalowski . The song was written in 1943. In 1948 the song was declared the official anthem of the Democratic Republic of Macedonia, in the Association of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After the establishment of an independent Republic of Macedonia in 1991, the song became the country's official anthem in 1992.

In the course of time the original text was changed. That's why there are two versions of the song today. In contrast to the original song, the names of Nikola Karew and Dimitar Wlachow were deleted and replaced by Dame Gruew .
