Der er et yndigt land is the title of the Danish national anthem .

history

The text was written by Adam Oehlenschläger in 1819 and Hans Ernst Krøyer set it to music around 1835. The hymn became popular after it was sung by students at a folk festival in Skamlingsbanken on July 4, 1844.

In the Kingdom of Denmark, the royal anthem Kong Kristian stod ved højen mast is also used. The royal anthem is played on official occasions when the monarch or members of the Danish royal family are present. The royal anthem is also played during fleet visits and military sports events. On all other civil occasions, e.g. B. Sports events, "Der er et yndigt land" is played.

Texts

Danish

Der he et yndigt land,
det står med brede bøge
: nær salten østerstrand:
Det bugter sig i bakke, dal,
det hedder gamle Danmark
: og det er Frejas sal. :

The sad i fordums tid
de harniskklædte kæmper,
: udhvilede fra strid:
Så drog de foreign til fjenders mén,
nu hvile deres level
: bag højens building buttons. :

The country endnu er skønt,
thi blå sig søen bælter,
: and løvet står så green:
And ædle kvinder, skønne møer
and mænd and raske svende
: bebo de danskes øer. :

Hil drot og fædreland!
Hil hver en danneborger,
: som virker, hvad han kan! :
Before the game in Denmark, it
should be possible to have a long bend in the storage space
: it is at the top of the bend. : |

Translation into German

It is a lovely country
In the shadow of broad beeches
: On the salty Baltic Sea beach. :
Dreams of rolling hills, in the valley,
Old Denmark, that's what it says
: And is the Freya Hall. :

There were anciently
The harnisch reinforced megalithic
: And rested from the battle. :
They set out to harm the enemy,
Now their bones rest
: Behind the building stone in the burial mound . :

The country is still beautiful!
Because the sea girds blue,
: And the leaves are green so fresh. :
And noble women, beautiful girls,
men and nimble boys
: Inhabit the islands of the Danes. :

Hail Prince and Fatherland!
Hail to every Danish citizen,
: He does what he can! :
Our old Denmark will exist
as long as the beech reflects
: Your crown in the blue wave. :

Oehlenschläger's fatherlands song

The he et yndigt land is based on the following poem by Adam Oehlenschläger. The first three and the last stanza for the anthem were adopted.

Fædrelands-Sang
"Ille terrarum mihi praeter omnes Angulus ridet." Horatius

He et yndigt land,
Det staaer med brede Bøge
Nær salten Østerstrand;
Det bugter sig i Bakke, Dal,
Det hedder gamle Danmark,
Og det er Freias Sal.

Der sad i fordums Tid
De harniskklædte Kæmper,
Udhvilede fra Strid;
Saa drog de Fremd til Fienders Meen,
Nu hvile deres Bene
Bag Høiens Bautasteen.

The land endnu er skiønt,
Thi blaa sig Søen belter,
Og Løvet staaer saa green;
Og ædle Qvinder, skiønne Møer,
Og Mænd og raske Svende
Beboe de Danske Øer. Before

Sprog he strengthens and blødt,
Before Tro he reen and luttret and
Modet he ei dødt.
Og hver en Dansk er lige fri,
Hver lyder tro sin Konge,
Men Trældom er forbi.

Et venligt Syd i Nord
Er, grønne Danarige,
Din axbeklædte Jord.
Og Snekken gaaer sin stolte Vei.
Hvor Ploug og Kiølen furer,
Der svierter Haabet ei.

Before Dannebrog he smukt,
Det vifter hen ad Havet
Med Flagets røde Bugt.
Og stedse har sin Farve hvid
Dit hellige Kors i Blodet,
O Dannebrog, i Strid.

Karsk he den Danskes Aand,
Den hader Fordoms Lænker,
Og Sværmeriets Baand.
For Venskab aaben, kold for Spot,
Slaaer ærlig Jydes Hierte,
For Pige, Land og Drot.

Jeg bytter Danmark ei,
For Ruslands Vinterørkner,
For Sydens Blomstermai.
Egg Pest og Slanger kiende vi,
Egg Vesterlandets Tungsind,
Egg Østens Raseri.

Before Tid ei staaer i Dunst,
Den hævet har sin Stemme
For Videnskab og Kunst.
Ei Bragis and ei Mimers Raab
Har vakt i lige Strækning
Et bedre Fremtids Haab.

Ei stor, before Fødestavn,
Dog hæver sig blandt Stæder
Dit stolte Kiøbenhavn.
Til bedre By ei Havet kom,
Ja ingen Flod i Dalen,
Fra Trondhiem og til Rom.

Med hellig Varetægt
Bevare you, Alfader!
Before gamle Kongeslægt.
Kong Fredrik ligner Fredegod;
Hvor er en bedre Fyrste,
Af bedre Helteblod?

Hil Drot og Fædreland!
Hil hver en Danneborger,
Som virker hvad han kan.
Before gamle Danmark shall be given,
Saalænge Bøgen steiler
Sin Top i Bølgen blaa.

The motto of Horace is translated: This corner of the earth laughs at me more than anyone else .
