Diploma Bertha Lutz
The Diploma Bertha Lutz , also known as Prêmio Bertha Lutz (German Bertha Lutz Diploma or Bertha Lutz Prize ) was founded by the Federal Senate in Brazil to honor women who have made a significant contribution to the defense of women's rights and gender issues in Brazil to have. It is named after the Brazilian biologist and feminist Bertha Lutz .
In 1998, Senator Emília Fernandes introduced a corresponding project to the Senate, which was passed with Resolution No. 2/2001 as Diploma Mulher-Cidadã Bertha Lutz . On average, five women from different areas are honored each year. The award ceremony takes place in a Senate meeting on March 8th on the occasion of International Women's Day.
