history

Kunzendorf, which belonged to the Glatzer Land from the beginning , was first mentioned as Cunczendorf in 1352 together with Ludwigsdorf , Kunigswalde , Hugisdorf and Volprechtsdorf , when these villages were sold by Hans von Wustehube on Neurode to Hansel von Donyn and his brothers. The sale was confirmed by the sovereign, the Bohemian King Charles IV. In 1360. Since it was a feudal estate , the sovereign taxes were collected by a free judge who was also responsible for the lower jurisdiction. The judicial property was probably located in Oberdorf, as the geographical names Freirichterkoppe and Scholzengrund are documented there. After the death of Friedrich von Donyn in 1467, Kunzendorf fell together with the rulership of Neurode as a settled fief that fell back to the Crown of Bohemia . King Georg von Podiebrad handed over the rule of Neurode out of gratitude for services rendered to Georg Stillfried-Rattonitz with the condition to marry one of the sisters of the late Friedrich von Donyn. 1472 confirmed Georg von Podiebrad's son, Duke Heinrich d. Ä. von Münsterberg , who was the feudal owner of the County of Glatz at the time, made the donation. In 1598 Heinrich von Stillfried left Kunzendorf and Hausdorf to his son Hans for usufruct, two years later to hereditary property. He built a mansion in Kunzendorf.

Together with the county Glatz fell Kunz village in 1763 after Hubertusburg of Prussia . After the reorganization of Prussia, it belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 , which was divided into districts. The district of Glatz was responsible from 1816–1853, and the district of Neurode from 1854–1932 . After its dissolution in 1933, Kunzendorf was again part of the Glatz district until 1945. Since 1874, the rural community Kunzendorf formed the district of the same name . In addition to agriculture and home weaving, coal mining has been of economic importance since the first half of the 18th century. Further economic development was favored in 1880 with the commissioning of the Waldenburg – Glatz railway line , which, however, did not have a stop in Kunzendorf, but in the northeastern colony of Centnerbrunn . More than 500 people were employed in the W. Jordan colored weaving mill. In 1939 there were 4442 residents in Kunzendorf.

As a result of the Second World War , Kunzendorf fell to Poland in 1945 and was renamed Drogosław . Most of the German population was expelled in 1946, unless they had fled before. Some of the newly settled residents were displaced from eastern Poland . In 1973 it was incorporated into the city of Nowa Ruda.

Centnerbrunn Colony

The Centnerbrunn colony (also Bad Centnerbrunn ) was located northeast of Kunzendorf in the Zentnertal, where a crystal clear spring known as "Hirschlecke" had been known since ancient times. In 1835, the neuroder doctor Karl Niedenführ bought 60 acres of land there, on which he built a cold water sanatorium, which opened in 1836 and was called the Kunzendorf hydropathic institute until 1851 . In this cold water drinking cures and Prießnitz treatments were administered. Four more residential and spa buildings and colonnades followed by 1850 . By 1850, 600 spa guests had been treated. After interest in cold water applications waned, Niedenführ sold the system to the Kunzendorfer landowner Josef Greppi. In 1866 the spa was closed and the building was used as a hospital for the wounded in the German war . The following owners were Count Pfeil from Hausdorf and later Count Magnis on Eckersdorf . In 1880 Centnerbrunn received a stop on the Waldenburg – Glatz railway line . This promoted the development of a summer resort and excursion destination. In addition, hiking trails have been created in the Owl Mountains. Before the First World War, Centnerbrunner table water was started to be shipped . In 1921 the former spa facilities were acquired by the union institution Volkshaus Neurode , which built a park with an open-air stage and a swimming pool in 1924. In the summer months, demanding plays were performed in the open-air stage, concerts by the Waldenburg mountain band and the Rubengrube mountain band were given, as well as union festivals. In 1933 the facility was taken over by the German Labor Front , which used it for propaganda purposes. After the transition to Poland in 1945, Centnerbrunn was renamed Zdrojowisko . In the following decades the facility was used as a rest home and for educational institutions.
