Dysart is a small town (with the status " City ") in Tama County in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . At the 2010 census , Dysart had 1,379 inhabitants, the number of which had decreased slightly to 1,376 by 2013.

Dysart is located in the middle east of Iowa, around 170 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The Iowa- Minnesota border runs about 150 km north; Missouri's northern border is around 190 km south.

history
After Joseph Dysart had settled on his farm in what is now the urban area in 1863 , the settlement named after him was built in 1873 with the construction of a railway line for what was then Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway . In 1881 the place was incorporated as an independent municipality.
