This episode list offers a tabular overview of all episodes of the American television series Emergency Room . Between 1994 and 2009, a total of 331 episodes were created in 15 seasons. The running time of the pilot film (episode 1) and the final episode is 90 minutes each, the other episodes usually 45 minutes. Episode 288, Ehrenwort ( I Don't , Season 13), lasts - at least in the German DVD version - about five minutes longer.

Plot summary: The main topics of the first season include the employment relationship between the assistant doctor Dr. Peter Benton and the new medical student John Carter as well as his competition with his colleague Jing-Mei Chen. The relationship between Dr. Ross and nurse Hathaway who survived a suicide attempt. Greene's efforts to keep his marriage alive and to care for his daughter are also shown. The season also addresses the issues facing Dr. Lewis raised allegations of incompetence and the private problems with her sister.

season 2
Plot summary: The main focus of the second season is on Carter's learning process in patient treatment and his romance with a medical student. It also tells of the love affair between Carol Hathaway and a paramedic, who comes under the influence of the death of one of his professional partners. Topics are also Dr. Ross' relationship with his father and disagreements he gets into with his colleagues and which endanger his job. The season also focuses on Lewis, who got into a maternal role, to which the new doctor Dr. Weaver provoked disputes and on Greene's break-up marriage. season 3
Plot summary: The third season shows Carter finishing his internship in Dr. Benton's surgical team begins and how the death of one of Carter's colleagues affects his relationship with Benton. Part of the plot is also the effort of HIV-positive Jeanie Boulet to do everyday work. Dr. Ross' storylines revolve around a recurring drug addict patient and an adolescent who has a desire to die. Other stories deal with Carol Hathaway's new career plan, with Dr. Benton's girlfriend and Carter's love affair with a pediatric surgeon. The closer friendship between Dr. Greene and Dr. Lewis and Greene's situation in a racial conflict that breaks out with the death of one of his patients.

Season 4
Plot summary: A story of the fourth season is about the promoted to interim head of emergency medicine Dr. Weaver hiring an emergency room management company to solve budget problems. Another story revolves around the re-emerging love between Hathaway and Ross, who meanwhile tries to get a job as a pediatric senior physician. Dr. Greene's emotional situation, which became destabilized after he was attacked, as well as his relationship with his parents. The focus is also on Jeanie Boulet's fight for her job, the friendship between the new pediatrician Dr. Del Amico and Carter, and the fate of Carter's drug addicted cousin. In addition, the fourth season looks at the professional activity of the new surgeon Dr. Elizabeth Corday, who is also new surgeon Dr. Romano reports.

Season 5
Plot summary: The fifth season shows Dr. Ross on how he exceeds his competencies in a case of euthanasia and quits his job as a result. Along with this, his relationship with Carol Hathaway is discussed. Part of the plot is also the working relationship between the new medical student Lucy Knight and Carter. Furthermore, the episodes deal with Dr. Benton and his concern for his hearing-impaired son, his love affair with Dr. Corday and his application for advanced training in traumatology. Other stories deal with Jeanie Boulet's friendship with a police officer, Greene's coming to terms with the past, and Weaver's attempts to find her birth parents.

Season 6
Plot summary: A theme of the sixth season is Carol Hathaway's pregnancy and the subsequent coping with her everyday professional life, which comes into conflict with caring for her twins. Other stories revolve around the patients of numerous new doctors, including Dr. Kovac and Dr. Finch. The relationship between Dr. Weaver and her former mentor, a senior physician who is increasingly appearing to be demented. Season 7
Plot summary: One of the themes of the seventh season is the relationship between Abby Lockhart, who drops out of medical school and henceforth works as a nurse, and her manic-depressed mother. Also on the pregnancies of Dr. Corday and Dr. Chen and her influence on her professional life is discussed. Other storylines tell of the relationship that Dr. Kovac turns into a dying priest and calls into question Kovac's religious beliefs. The episodes are also about Benton's love affair with Dr. Finch and his resignation by Romano, by Dr. Weaver's love affair with a psychiatrist and Dr. Greene's mental situation after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Season 8
Plot summary: The eighth season begins with the death of Dr. Benton's son; a custody battle is the result. One theme of the season is the return of Dr. Lewis and her relationship with Carter. The first working days of the medical student Michael Gallant and the assistant doctor Gregory Pratt in the emergency room are shown. It also deals with those between Dr. Weaver and a firefighter's love affair. It also shows how Malucci and Chen are dismissed after unsuccessful emergency treatment. A dispute between Abby's neighbors is discussed in several episodes. The second half of the season deals particularly with the cancer disease Dr. Greene, the associated changes in health and, ultimately, his death. The end of the season is an exceptional situation that is triggered by a quarantine in the emergency room.

Plot summary: Season ten begins when Dr. Carter returns from his assignment in a Congolese hospital. His girlfriend Kem, who was newly found in Africa, is stillborn. Rumors of Kovač's death turn out to be false. The new medical student Neela Rasgotra will be Dr. Subordinate to Gallant. Abby Lockhart continues her medical degree. Dr. Romano has difficulty getting used to a prosthetic arm and dies in another helicopter accident, which also causes considerable damage to the hospital building. Dr. Corday begins a love affair with a married doctor. Lewis treats a blind patient. Weaver's partner gives birth to their child and dies a little later in an accident; there is a custody battle.

Season 11
Plot summary: The plot of the eleventh season follows on from the finale of the tenth, when Pratt gets into a serious car accident in which a passenger dies. Chen quits her job after she has euthanized her terminally ill father at his request. Dr. Morris. Dr. Lockhart is in shock for a while after being kidnapped by a street gang. Dr. Corday illegally performs a transplant and as a result returns to her native England. Neela Rasgotra works in a supermarket due to a lack of alternatives before she returns to the emergency room. Dr. Weaver meets her birth mother. Taggart's son causes a stir. Nurse Taggart and her son move into Kovač's apartment. Carter falls in love with a social worker; later he quits his job in the county.

Plot summary: At the beginning of the twelfth season, Taggart ends her love affair with Kovač, who soon becomes closer to Lockhart. Season 13
Plot summary: Season 13 starts with an attempt to escape from the emergency room by two inmates (including her ex-husband), in which Taggart and her son are temporarily held hostage. Morris and Kovač get new roles. Neela is completing advanced training in surgery. Weaver is demoted and later resigns. She takes a job on television. The new assistant doctor Tony Gates behaves unauthorized when treating patients and also tries to defend himself in favor of Dr. To separate Rasgotras from his partner, whereupon she takes her own life. Lockhart, recently mother of a son, and Kovač are persecuted and threatened by vengeful patient Ames. Barnett had a serious accident. After his marriage to Lockhart and his resignation as emergency room manager, Kovač went to his Croatian homeland. Kovač's role is then taken over by the doctor Dr. Moretti.

Season 14
Plot summary : At the beginning of season 14, the doctors fight for Neela's life; she was injured in a demonstration. Abby is increasingly worried about Luka's stay in Croatia. After her son is admitted injured, she cannot resist the alcohol and spends a night with Dr. Moretti. She later asks her husband for help and is admitted to a rehab clinic. She also made the decision to become a senior physician. Dr. Gates repeatedly messes with superiors and is temporarily pushed to the intensive care unit, where he befriends a terminally ill boy. He also continues to fight for custody of his stepdaughter. Sam feels underchallenged as a nurse and is considering becoming a paramedic. Dr. Pratt is being passed over twice in the emergency room appointment, so he wants to leave the county as soon as possible. He continues to take care of his cancer friend.

Season 15
Plot summary: Season 15 begins with the death of Dr. Pratts as a result of an explosion; the position originally intended for him as emergency room manager will be given to the new doctor Dr. Banfield, whose first day of work is also the last for Dr. Lockhart is. In the further course, Banfield's attempts to have a child of their own are discussed. The love affair of Dr. Morris with an undercover cop is doing well, while Taggart and Dr. Gates breaks up after an incident with their son Alex. The relationship between Dr. Rasgotra and Dr. Brenner and his rape in childhood; Rasgotra finally resigns and leaves the county general. Another topic is the return of the longtime emergency room doctor Dr. Carter on the opening of his health center and kidney transplant.
