Eschenbach is located above the Lake Zurich municipality of Schmerikon , east of the city of Rapperswil-Jona . The community consists of the villages Eschenbach, Neuhaus, Bürg, Diemberg, Ermenswil and Lütschbach and, since January 1, 2013, Goldingen , Hintergoldingen, Oberholz, St. Gallenkappel , Rüeterswil and Walde.

The bypass road A53 relieves traffic through the village center of Eschenbach. In Neuhaus, the main road 8 leads to the Rickenpass and thus connects the See-Gaster region with the Toggenburg .

Eschenbach has no connection to the rail network, which is why there is no train station in Eschenbach. As part of the Ostwind tariff association, Eschenbach has bus routes to the stations of Schmerikon , Uznach , Rüti ZH , Wattwil and Rapperswil-Jona . There is also a bus line to the Atzmännig ski area . The bus routes are operated by Postauto AG and Schneider Busbetriebe . The following bus lines run through Eschenbach:

• 622 : Rapperswil - Eschenbach - Ricken - Wattwil
• 623 (night bus): Rapperswil - Eschenbach - Schmerikon - Uznach - Kaltbrunn - Gommiswald - Ricken - Eschenbach - Rapperswil

• 631 : Rüti - Eschenbach - Uznach - Kaltbrunn
