Esenyurt is the capital of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of İstanbul and a district on the European side of Istanbul . Esenyurt has 686,968 inhabitants (as of 2014). Migrants from Romania and Bulgaria immigrated here from 1920 to 1938 , and more recently internal migrants from Ardahan and Kars , as well as Erzurum and Artvin .
Population development
As a booming suburb of Istanbul, it has had very strong growth in recent years, which has made it the second largest Turkish city in the European part of Turkey .
