Eva Hassmann

Eva Hassmann (born December 29, 1972 in Herford ) is a German actress and artist .

Life

From the age of nine, Hassmann took ballet, tap dance and singing lessons in Oldenburg. She got her first smaller roles at the Staatstheater Oldenburg through her participation in an independent theater group. After graduating from high school, she moved to Berlin and studied dance, singing, speaking and acting a. a. at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in Los Angeles , Ivana Chubbuck Studio and directing at UCLA . Between 1993 and 2007 she worked regularly in productions for public broadcasters as well as in smaller roles in national and international film productions. On September 4, 2000, she married Otto Waalkes in Jork and on November 22, 2012 they were divorced.

Eva Hassmann wrote the script for the short film Mad Lane and was at the same time producer, director and leading actress. Mad Lane was screened at international and national film festivals - including the Hofer International Film Festival (2006) and the Max Ophüls Film Festival (2007) - and received the 2006 Short Film Award for Best Director at the Sacramento International Film Festival.

Eva Hassmann lives in Los Angeles and works as a freelance photo artist. She presented her first public works in 2013 in the exhibition Independence Day in cooperation with the Argentine artist Flavia Da Rin in the Bötzow-Hallen in Berlin. Using a self-timer, she staged different female roles in different locations in the USA .

Awards

For her short film "Mad Lane" (director, producer, author and leading actress) she received the short film award as director (Sacramento Film Award for Best Short Film) at the Sacramento Film Festival 2006.
