The FC Erzgebirge Aue (officially: Football Club Erzgebirge Aue eV ) is a football club from Aue-Bad Schlema in Saxony. For the 1990/91 season, the club , which was then still listed under the name of FC Wismut Aue, founded a women's department, to which the women's soccer team of the BSG Rotation Schlema changed. In the 1991/92 season the club was represented in the 1st Bundesliga , between 2004 and 2007 they played as FC Erzgebirge Aue in the 2nd Bundesliga . Since being relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga, the team has been represented in the Regionalliga Nordost . For the 2016/17 season, Alexander Zamzow replaces Juliane Zimmermann, who now only acts as a player, as the team's coach. The home games are played in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium in Aue-Bad Schlema.

BSG Rotation Schlema

In 1974 the BSG Rotation Schlema founded a women's soccer team. This qualified for the first time in 1984 for the determination of the best , in which the unofficial GDR champions in women's football was determined. The first time they took part, they came in third behind the BSG Motor Hall and the BSG Turbine Potsdam .

In 1987 they reached the final of the best determination for the first time and met the BSG Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt in Kamenz . With a 4-1 victory they secured the championship. In addition to the determination of the best, the Cup of the Democratic Women's Association was held for the first time . BSG Rotation Schlema also prevailed in this competition.

In 1988 the mode of determining the best was changed. The team reached the final again and this time faced the BSG Turbine Potsdam. In contrast to the previous year, the final consisted of a return leg. The first leg in Aue was won 3-0, the second leg in Babelsberg lost 3-1, but prevailed 4-3 in the overall result. That was how the championship title had been defended.

In the final of the best determination in 1989 there was a new edition of last year's final. The players from Schlema won the game in Aue 3: 2, but like last year they had to admit defeat 1: 3 in Babelsberg. So they went 4: 5 as a loser in the final account. In contrast, they won the GDR Cup for the second time in three years, making them the record winners of this competition.

At the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, Aue made international headlines when, with Kersten and Elke Guderian , Dorit Scheibe-Wieden and Heike Scheibe, as well as Kathrin Hecker and Heike Hecker-Pöschmann, three pairs of twins were active in the club's first team.

FC Wismut Aue
