Fellsmere is a city in Indian River County in the US state of Florida with 5197 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Fellsmere is about 20 km northwest of Vero Beach and about 130 km southeast of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 5197 inhabitants were distributed over 1661 households. The population density was 379.3 inh / km². 55.2% of the population identified themselves as whites, 5.4% as African American , 0.8% as Indians and 0.1% as Asian Americans . 36.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 8.1% to several ethnic groups. 81.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 65.7% of all households and persons aged 65 and over in 13.5% of all households. 84.1% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 4.06 and the average family size was 4.16.
37.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 35.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 20.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 6.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 26 years. 56.1% of the population were male and 43.9% were female.
The median annual income was $ 28,462, with 29.2% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 31.94% of the population, 67.94% spoke Spanish and 0.12% spoke French .
