Indian River Shores is a city in Indian River County in the US state of Florida with 3901 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Indian River Shores lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River , which forms part of the Intracoastal Waterway . The city borders Vero Beach to the south and is about 150 km southeast of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 3901 inhabitants were distributed among 3510 households. The population density was 291.1 inh / km². 98.4% of the population identified themselves as white, 0.3% as African American and 0.7% as Asian Americans . 0.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.4% to several ethnic groups. 1.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 79.5% of all households lived in 4.3% of all households with persons aged 65 or over. 69.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.82 people and the average family size was 2.15 people.
4.6% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 2.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 12.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 70.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 71 years. 45.7% of the population were male and 54.3% were female.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.94% of the population, 1.88% spoke French and 2.18% had another mother tongue.
