Roseland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Indian River County in the US state of Florida with 1472 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Roseland borders directly on the city of Sebastian in the south . The CDP is located approximately 25 km north of Vero Beach and approximately 120 km southeast of Orlando . To the east of Roseland runs the Indian River , part of the Intracoastal Waterway on the east coast of Florida. The St. Sebastian River also flows into the Indian River here.

The CDP is crossed by US Highway 1 and the Florida East Coast Railway .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1472 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 966 households. The population density was 288.6 inh / km². 94.5% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.1% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 0.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 3.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 44.2% of all households lived in 16.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 59.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.08 people and the average family size was 2.58 people.

14.3% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 13.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 39.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 55 years. 48.6% of the population were male and 51.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 39,034, with 13.7% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
