terminal

The Aeroporto di Parma “Giuseppe Verdi” is the international airport of the Italian city of Parma . It is named after the composer Giuseppe Verdi .

The airport is in close proximity to the city center and is served mainly by Ryanair on regular flights to Trapani and Cagliari . FlyOne has also been serving the airport to Chisinau since 2016 .

history

The airport was built as a military airfield in 1923 and destroyed in World War II. In the post-war period, initially poorly prepared for general aviation , after renovations it has also been used for commercial traffic since 1991. At the end of 2010 it hit the headlines along with other smaller Italian airports. The civil aviation authority ENAC described them as unprofitable "bonsai airports".
