Culture and sights

Fougeré has a medieval town center. The Romanesque church of St. Etienne from the 11th century, located in the center of the old core, has one of the twisted spiers typical of the area, as it is in some other places in the Baugeois (e.g. Le Vieil-Baugé , Fontaine-Guérin ) can be found. The choir from the beginning of the 13th century is one of the most beautiful in Anjou . The paintings are originally from the 15th century and were revised by Grandin de Tours in the 16th century . The 16th century Château des Gastines can also be visited. A wealth of other secular and sacred buildings from different epochs are also worth seeing.

Leisure and Tourism

For the typical boules game of the area, the Boule de Fort , there is also a special facility in Fougeré.
