Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Julius Freiherr von Esebeck (born August 23, 1870 in Weimar , † May 25, 1951 in Berlin ) was a German infantry general .

Life

His parents were the Prussian captain Friedrich von Esebeck (1835-1870) and his wife Anna, née von Pappenheim (* 1846).

Military career

Esebeck occurred on 1 April 1890 as a cadet in the 1st Guards Regiment walk the Prussian Army in Berlin and was there on Nov. 18, 1890 to Ensign appointed and on August 2, 1891 second lieutenant promoted. Ten months later he was appointed Chief of Staff of Military District VI in Münster and on May 16, 1920 Esebeck received the post of Commandant of Glatz . As such, he was promoted to colonel on October 1, 1920 . With the transfer to Frankfurt (Oder) on June 6, 1922, Esebeck was appointed commander of the 8th (Prussian) Infantry Regiment and promoted to major general on January 1, 1924 . After a year he was Infantry Leader III and on November 1, 1926, he was commander of the 1st Division . In this function he was also the commander in military district I based in Königsberg . On February 1, 1927, he was promoted to lieutenant general . Esebeck was released from his duties on September 30, 1929, and at the same time he was given the status of General of the Infantry, he was retired. On April 20, 1937, he was given permission to wear the uniform of the 8th Infantry Regiment.
