In Group F, three teams took the first three places with equal points, each with two wins. All games ended with successes of one goal difference. With an identical point and goal difference, the Netherlands were first ahead of Saudi Arabia, which lost 1: 2 in a direct comparison against Oranje . Belgium moved into the round of 16 as the third team, beating their neighbors 1-0. Morocco did well in fourth place despite the three defeats, because they were extremely close with two 1: 2 and one 0: 1.

Round of 16

Saturday, July 2, 1994 in Chicago
GermanyGermany Germany - BelgiumBelgium Belgium 3: 2 (3: 1)

In Chicago, Belgium met the German team, which, thanks to Rudi Völler, scored the 1-0 after five minutes. Greens equalizer two minutes later, the Germans countered by Klinsmann (10th) to 2-1 again. When Völler made it 3-1 after 39 minutes, the game seemed decided. The Swiss referee Rüthlisberger did not punish a clear foul by Helmer on Weber and the Belgians 2: 3 only fell in the final minute, so that the Vogts-Elf reached the quarter-finals.
